In 1990, the magazine Gran Aventurero offered the authors, José Ortiz and Antonio Segura, the opportunity to produce Juan el Largo, a series that evoke the spirit of classic adventure through the exploits of a peculiar group of pirates in the Caribbean seas.

After seizing a cannon barrel in the port city of Cartagena in 1665, Juan and his band of pirates launch a daring attack on a Spanish galleon and subsequently wreak havoc across the Caribbean. They brave fierce storms, traverse treacherous swamps in search of treasure, and never shy away from a naval battle along the way.

This is another production from the Ortiz & Segura duo, with likeable characters, treasure hunts, ship attacks and pretty girls. The charm of this series lies in the characters' lines, which are always in tune, funny and punchy.
